    لعل إدراك الغرب للأهمية الإستراتيجية للساحل ليس أمرا مستحدثا، إنما الجديد هو شمولية الساحل بعمقه الاستراتيجي لعقدة اللاأمن الغربي، ففي الوقت الذي اتجهت فيه الو م أ نحو تبني مقاربة بإعادة الانتشار الجيوستراتيجي في القارة الإفريقية والمنطقة تحديدا، تعيش فرنسا تخبطا في سلوكها الخارجي إزاء الساحل بين محاولة إحياء إرثها الكولونيالي أو لبس عباءة الاتحاد الأوربي بحثا عن الشرعية والمسوغات الرسميةوالشعبية لدعمالتدخل، في ظل المزاحمة الصينية ومصالح القوى النامية هنا وهناك.........................................................................................................................................................C’est nécessaire de comprendre que l’importance stratégique du sahel à l’ouest n’est pas récente, mais ce qui est nouveau c’est le complexe sécuritaire des deux espaces géostratégiques, au moment où les Etats Unis imposent une approche de nouvelle diffusion en Afrique et au sahel. Par ailleurs la France reste perturbée par rapport à sa politique étrangère liée à l’histoire *France-Afrique* et la voie européenne. Et tout se passe dans une puissante concurrence chinoise et d’autres puissances développées........................................................................................................................................It is necessary to understand that the strategic importance of the Sahel region, to the West, is not a recent issue. But, the novelty lies in the security complex of the two geostrategic spaces. On the one hand, the United states enforces an approach of new spread in Africa and the Sahel region. On the other hand, France is indecisive about its foreign policy, whether to abide to its historical franco-africa policy or to allow the European way. All this happened under a powerful competition of hina and other emerging powers.
