    THE GENRE-BASED APPROACH TO TEACHING WRITING FOR BUSINESS PURPOSES

    Writing in a foreign language is considered one of the challenges for foreign language learners. This is not surprising because the rhetorical conventions of a foreign language -English- the structure, style, and organization often differ from the conventions of the mother tongue –Arabic. This is the case of third year LMD students at the Department of Economics, at M'sila university as they showed their inability even to write short texts. Accordingly, this study aims at introducing the Genre Approach to teaching writing to remedy the problem. Data has been collected through using two research instruments: a questionnaire for students, and a structured interview for the teacher. The results confirmed the set hypothesis in claiming that the Genre Approach could be a remedy for both students and teachers to overcome the encountered writing difficulties. However, they could not be said to have fulfilled generalization requirements. ...................................................................................................................................................................... تعتبر الكتابة باللغة الأجنبية من أصعب التحديات التي يواجهها متعلموا هذه اللغة؛ حيث إن الاختلافات الموجودة بين اللغة الأم –العربية– واللغة الأجنبية –الانجليزية– تحول دون توظيف الأفكار المناسبة, وكذا الأسلوب الخطابي المناسب، هذا ما يعانيه طلبة السنة الثالثةLMD في كلية الاقتصاد بجامعة محمد بوضياف بالمسيلة؛ حيث يتضح عدم قدرتهم حتى على كتابة نصوص قصيرة في مجال تخصصهم. لهذا تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى تقديم " مقاربة النوع" لتدريس الكتابة قصد معالجة المشكل المطروح. تعتمد منهجية البحث على أداتين لدراسة فرضيته ومتغيراته؛ حيث قامت الباحثة بتقديم استبيان للطلبة كما قامت بتسجيل مقابلات مباشرة مع الأساتذة المشرفين على تدريس الانجليزية بالكلية، ولقد قدمت نتائج هذه الدراسة دعما كبيرا لفرضية البحث رغم أنها لم ترق لدرجة التعميم.
