Summary : The aim of this study was to measure the degree of correlation between the emotional intelligence and marital compatibility. and to identify the differences between couples in their level of emotional intelligence and marital compatibility according to gender and age variables, educational level, number of children, marriage duration and work. The research sample consists of 59 husband and wife. and Marital compatibility Scale by Spinner, emotional intelligence by Ahmed Alaa scale ; was applied. data were analyzed by using the SPSS-19 software. The study concluded that: The correlation between the two variables is very weak. And that the only difference was found between the young and middle age group, where the value of t is equal to 2.85 and at the level of significance 0.005 in emotional intelligence and for the middle age category.
